The world cannot get enough of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The trailer for Tom Holland’s new MCU film crossed one billion views in just four days after its March 17 release — the first movie trailer ever to reach this milestone. WaveMetrix confirmed the count at 1.1 billion by Tuesday, ushering in a new era of what a blockbuster trailer can achieve in the digital landscape.

The records came fast. Brand New Day’s trailer scored 718.6 million views in 24 hours, leaving Deadpool & Wolverine’s February 2024 Super Bowl record of 365 million views in the dust. Spider-Man: No Way Home’s 355.5 million view-record was also eclipsed. Grand Theft Auto VI’s entertainment milestone of 475 million views, which had been considered untouchable, was similarly surpassed by a significant margin.

These figures have reshaped expectations for the entire industry. They demonstrate that with the right franchise, the right story, and the right moment, a single piece of promotional content can become a global event that transcends conventional reach. Brand New Day’s trailer has fundamentally altered what studios, marketers, and fans consider possible in the realm of digital engagement.

Brand New Day follows Spider-Man: No Way Home, which earned $1.9 billion globally during its 2021 theatrical run. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the film stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo. It is scheduled for release on July 31 and will be available in India across six languages and all premium formats.

The trailer shows Peter Parker living in heartbreaking isolation four years after the world forgot he ever existed. Without MJ, without Ned, and without anyone who knows him, he battles a new villain and seeks Bruce Banner’s help in navigating his unprecedented situation. Fans reacted with a mix of emotional devastation and affectionate humor, creating viral renamings like “Spider-Man: Far from Okay” in a collective expression of their love for the character.
