Travel demand in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is experiencing a robust resurgence, as new data reveals a 66.2% increase in activity from April to May, signaling a renewed confidence in the region’s major aviation markets. Between March and May, travel activity surged by 72.8% across GCC hubs, underscoring the resilience and recovery of the aviation sector in this area.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has bolstered its status as the leading travel gateway in the GCC, with a notable 75.6% rise in travel activity between April and May. This growth is reflected in the strong performance of major airports such as Dubai International Airport, Abu Dhabi International Airport, and Sharjah International Airport, which are seeing heightened demand for both business and leisure travel.

Qatar is emerging rapidly as one of the fastest-growing travel markets within the region. The increased activity at Doha’s Hamad International Airport is instrumental in enhancing Qatar’s role in regional connectivity and boosting international travel.

Saudi Arabia continues to play a vital role in driving GCC travel demand, contributing a significant portion of the region’s overall activity. The growth seen in key cities like Riyadh and Dammam highlights the Kingdom’s ongoing prominence as a central hub in the aviation market.

The recent rebound in travel across the GCC is a testament to the increasing traveler confidence, enhanced connectivity, and the robustness of the region’s aviation infrastructure. As the peak travel season approaches, the sector is poised for sustained recovery, with demand on a consistent upward trajectory.
