The strengthening ties between Vietnam and Qatar are paving the way for enhanced economic opportunities and cooperation across various sectors, as highlighted during Vietnam’s National Day celebration in Doha. The event underscored the potential for increased trade and investment, which could benefit industries such as energy, labor, and telecommunications in both nations.
Celebrating the 81st anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day, the event brought together key figures including senior Qatari officials, diplomats, and business leaders. Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar Nguyen Huy Hiep emphasized the growing relationship between the two countries, noting the importance of peace, dialogue, and international cooperation in their expanding partnership.
Since establishing diplomatic relations in 1993, Vietnam and Qatar have witnessed significant growth in cooperation. This relationship now encompasses a broad range of sectors including aviation, agriculture, healthcare, and hospitality. Economic ties have particularly flourished, with bilateral trade reaching approximately $423 million in 2025, reflecting a notable increase in business engagements and investment opportunities.
High-level exchanges have been a cornerstone of this relationship, highlighted by the visit of Qatar’s prime minister to Vietnam in October 2024. Both nations have expressed a keen interest in further strengthening their bilateral cooperation and expanding economic partnerships, which are expected to generate more business prospects in the coming years.
As Vietnam and Qatar continue to deepen their collaboration, the focus remains on leveraging these ties to foster mutual growth and development, reinforcing the importance of international partnerships in today’s interconnected global economy.
